Year after year, reports of drought and dry spells are piling up. Our farmers are increasingly struggling with crop failures, and on a smaller scale, this also affects us amateur gardeners. There’s a water shortage, so what can we do?
Of course, we rely on precious tap water: we turn on the tap and the cool water flows into our watering can or garden hose. After all, we have to keep watering.
It’s now not uncommon for local authorities to ban watering of lawns and garden areas in order to safeguard the supply of drinking water.
